Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: A Driver- CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck, providing prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services for customers. The driver ensures vehicle compliance with safety standards, adheres to all regulations, and completes daily vehicle condition reports to facilitate timely repairs.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform thorough pre- and post-operation inspections of the vehicle, checking tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls; report safety issues accordingly.
• Safely operate the truck along designated routes, following route sheets and maps, servicing customers as assigned.
• Operate manual and/or automatic controls to lift, load, and dispose of waste, following safety policies.
• Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and colleagues to ensure timely service.
• Identify and tag unsatisfactory waste containers per departmental procedures.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and manage accidental spills safely.
• Maintain vehicle readiness, clean the truck and packer blade as needed, and complete required reports and sheets.
• Meet productivity standards and follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Participate actively in the company’s ReSOP program and perform other duties as assigned.
• Provide excellent customer service, demonstrating professionalism, honesty, and trustworthiness.
• Manage time effectively, adhere to policies, and uphold safety standards.
• Maintain pride in work and strive to meet all goals.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License with air brakes endorsement.
