Amwaste is currently looking for qualified candidates to fill open positions for boom truck drivers in the Birmingham, AL area.
A Boom Truck driver is responsible for safely operating a boom truck and providing courteous waste removal services for customers on the designated route. The driver must follow all safety rules, ensure vehicle compliance with safety standards and regulations, and complete daily vehicle inspections. Good customer service, time management, and teamwork skills are essential.
- Operate a boom to collect leaf and limb piles.
- Perform vehicle inspections before and after shifts, reporting safety issues.
- Safely operate the truck along the route, following route sheets and maps, servicing each customer.
- Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and report/tag waste as necessary.
- Maintain vehicle condition and readiness to minimize downtime.
- Complete route sheets, DVIR, and other reports.
- Adhere to productivity and safety policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Two years of experience driving heavy commercial trucks.
- Class B CDL.
- Experience with boom trucks or waste removal services.
