Job summary

Performance Foodservice in the United States (Wisconsin–La Crosse area) is seeking a Driver Assistant to support delivery operations. The role involves riding with Drivers on intrastate/interstate routes to deliver and unload products, ensuring timely and safe handoffs and maintaining professional interactions with customers.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, 6+ months in warehousing with customer interfacing in the foodservice industry, and a post-offer drug test plus

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
• 6+ months in warehouse environment and interfacing with customers within foodservice industry.
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Driver in the safe and accurate delivery of products to customers in a timely and efficient manner.
• Load and unloading truck and/or company vehicles.
• Place products in areas identified by customers.
• Completes required documentation in a timely manner.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Purpose

Food and food service delivery Drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers not only make sure the customers’ products arrive at their destination at the arranged times and in good condition, but they are the face of our company – building lasting relationships with our customers! As a Driver Helper, you will assist the Driver in every aspect of the product delivery to our customers.

Primary Responsibilities

The Driver Assistant rides with and assist Drivers in the tractor trailer, tandem trailer and/or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes for the purpose of delivering and/or unloading various products in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.
