Job summary

Juniper is seeking an Agronomy Technician to safely apply fertilizers and IPM strategies across landscape properties. You will diagnose turf/ornamental issues, mix and apply products per label, and maintain records while upholding safety standards.

Responsibilities include operating equipment, communicating with customers, and ensuring quality workmanship across outdoor environments in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Certified Pesticide applicator.
• Valid driver's license.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of pesticide, fertilizer, and herbicide products and calibration.
• Knowledge of turf and ornamental issues.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an Agronomy Technician responsible for the safe and appropriate application of fertilization and Integrated Pest Management needs for our landscape maintenance properties.Responsibilities:Identifying, diagnosing, and treating turf and ornamental issues as they ariseApplying fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and insecticides as needed to lawns, shrubs and plant material in accordance with accepted industry practices, safety procedures, label instructions, and rules and requirements of various Federal, State, and local regulatory agenciesPreparing and mixing products according to label instructions and product specifications, and using in accordance with prescribed safety precautions and directionsEnsuring the safe and proper operation of tools, vehicles, and equipment; adhering to safety standards and regulatory requirementsMaintaining cleanliness of vehicle and equipmentMaintaining accurate records of products usedCompleting all required correspondence regarding work ordersRetention of customers through rapport, communication, and met expectationsUsing hand tools, power tools and/or equipment to perform IPM dutiesPerforming miscellaneous job-related duties as assignedSkills/Requirements:Certified Pesticide applicatorValid driver’s license required with ability to clear Motor Vehicle Record reviewBMP Best Management Practices Certificate preferredExcellent communication skills and customer service skillsKnowledge of pesticide, fertilizer, and herbicide products and calibrationKnowledge of turf and ornamental issuesAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managementAbility to work cooperatively with employees and the general public, as well as working independentlyHorticulture, L&O and agricultural experience in related fields is preferredExperience with operating a Z sprayerMust be able and willing to work for long periods of time outside (in extreme temperatures and direct sunlight)Must be able and willing to bend, stoop, and twist repeatedly throughout the dayMust be able to use hand tools and power equipmentMust be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.About UsJuniper is a full-service landscape design, build, and management company servicing the Southeast.
