Job summary

PACS in United States, Georgia seeks a Patient Transport Assistant to assist residents with loading and unloading from facility approved vehicles and to transport them safely to medical appointments and activities. Responsibilities include maintaining vehicle cleanliness and operating logs, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and coordinating with staff to meet residents' scheduling needs.

CNA training and a valid driver's license are required; the role requires lifting up to 75 pounds

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have CNA training/certification.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• No traffic crimes in the last 7 years.
• Pass a drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with loading/unloading from facility vehicles.
• Transport residents safely to medical appointments and activities.
• Maintain interior and exterior of facility vehicles.
• Monitor vehicle maintenance logs and schedule maintenance.
• Be flexible with work time for late appointments or activities.
• Demonstrate safe transfer techniques for mobile patients in vans.
• Lift and mobilize patient weights up to 75 pounds as needed.

Job description

Salary Range: Based on experience.

Assists residents with loading and unloading from facility approved vehicles. Ensures the safe transportation of residents to scheduled medical appointments or other approved activities, resident outings, etc. Maintains the interior and exterior of facility vehicles to promote safe and comfortable transport for the residents and project a positive image in the community. Monitors vehicle maintenance logs and delivers vehicle for regularly scheduled maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, etc. All other duties as assigned Must be flexible with work time (in the event a resident appointment or activity runs late Must have training and be able to return demonstrate safe clinical based transfer techniques for: Ingress Egress of Mobile Patients with Van Transfer of patients into and out of Wheelchair Properly securing WC bound residents into bays in Vans Must be able to lift transfer and mobilize patient weights of up to 70 pounds by self in confined areas inside Van. Must be able to make complex decisions involving highly dependent patient base. Supervisory Requirements This position has no supervisor responsibilities Qualification Education and/or Experience Minimum of a High School Diploma or a GED Minimum – 25 years old Must have a valid DL Must be familiar with GPS and local driving area. No Traffic Crimes in the last 7 years. DUI, DWS, Reckless Driving, No Traffic Felonies Multiple DUI, or DWS, Leaving Scene with Injuries, Assault with Vehicle Not more than 2 moving violations in 3 years Not more than one accident in 3 years Pass a drug screen and background check Language Skills Ability to read, write and understand job related instructions and manuals Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, coworkers, and residents. Mathematical Skills Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in the Microsoft Suite products. Must have successfully completed CNA training and maintain all CE to maintain certification.
