ASDB serves over 2,000 children who are blind, visually impaired, deaf, hard of hearing or deafblind from birth to grade 12. The School Bus Driver III (Trainer) position is located in Oro Valley, AZ 85737, and focuses on training staff to become certified to drive school buses under Arizona rules.

The role includes conducting driver evaluations, vehicle inspections, and road tests, while maintaining records for certifications, physicals, and drug tests.

Qualifications

• Must pass FBI and State background checks.
• Valid Arizona CDL with passenger and S endorsement.
• Valid Arizona School Bus Instructor certification.
• CIT, CPR, and First Aid certifications required for personnel who drive.
• Defensive Driver Training completed by all agency drivers.
• Must pass post-offer physical.
• ASL skills when working with deaf staff/students.

Job Duties:

• Provide training to staff for the purpose of becoming certified to drive a school bus per Arizona rules/regulations
• Performs driver evaluations, vehicle inspections, and road tests
• Maintain a database for tracking certification, physical examinations, and drug test results

• KNOWLEDGE OF:
  • Policies, procedures, and programs of the immediate work unit.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Must be able to pass FBI and State background checks.
