Job summary

MarineMax is seeking a Driver to operate a heavy truck to transport boats, trailers and related gear to and from dealerships and destinations. You will manage cargo, documentation, and navigation, ensuring compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, inspecting equipment, maintaining truck logs, and coordinating with supervisors. You may assist with showroom setup and boating events while keeping safety a priority.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of commercial driving regulations and area roads.
• Maintains a clean driving record and DMV/DOT credentials.
• Familiar with maintaining truck logs according to regulations.

Responsibilities

• Drives truck to destinations while following regulations and directions.
• Ensures documentation for boats, trailers or equipment is received.
• Loads and unloads trucks and inspects equipment (tires, lights, brakes, fluids).
• Maintains communication with supervisor, and assists with boat/show set-ups.
• Ensures safety of team members and cargo during transit.

OVERVIEW: The Driver d rives truck with capacity of more than 3 tons to transport boats, trailers and related equipment to and from MarineMax dealerships and other designated destinations.

KEY TASKS:

• Drives truck to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and area roads.
• Ensures proper documentation received for boats, trailers, or related equipment delivered or picked up.
• Maintains a clean driving record, and possess all necessary DMV/DOT credentials
• Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations.
• Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive instructions or other communication.
• Loads and unloads trucks.
• Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil or water.
• May perform emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains and spark plugs.
• May position blocks and tie rope around items to secure cargo during transit.
• Assists in showroom display including the moving and positioning of boats.
• Assists with set-up of boat shows.
• Retrieves and launches boats from water.
• Operates small trailer vessels for loading purposes.
• May perform canvas and equipment tear-down for transport.
• Ensures safety of team members and items being transported.
• Other Duties as assigned
