Job summary

A logistics and industrial services firm based in Wisconsin is seeking experienced CDL drivers to manage heavy loads, ensure customer satisfaction, and comply with DOT regulations. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of CDL driving experience and a valid Class A CDL. This position requires travel up to 50% of the time and offers competitive compensation based on experience.

Qualifications

  • LCV card, doubles, and triples endorsement preferred.
  • Familiarity with DOT Federal and State regulations on oversize transportation.
  • Ability to read and process permits and paperwork.
  • Must be available for 40 hours/week with potential overtime and travel.

Overview

Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize all loads and trips to maximize time and resources.
  • Work with Operations and dispatch to ensure customer satisfaction on each job.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch on a regular basis.
  • Manage risk and liability from the field and relay issues to the operations team.
  • Drive up to ten hours a day, in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintain vehicles and equipment and report on the machinery.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip checks.
Essential Functions
  • Plan, secure, and load cargo using appropriate equipment (ropes, blocks, chains, binders, etc.).
  • Collaborate with yard staff and dispatch to prepare for loading/unloading and to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Operate and maneuver trucks into loading/unloading positions with attention to signals and load security.
  • Interact with customers in a courteous manner and address concerns professionally.
  • Adhere to DOT regulations, including hours of service.
  • Safely manage heavy oversized loads across varied terrains.
  • Follow safety policies and set a professional example.
  • Document mileage and service hours accurately in daily logs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and perform pre/post-load inspections.
  • Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
  • Collaborate in a team environment and adhere to company policies.
  • Mentor other drivers as needed.
Required Experience
  • 3 years of CDL driving experience required; heavy haul preferred.
  • Valid Class A CDL.
  • Current DOT Medical Card.
  • LCV card, doubles, and triples endorsement preferred.
  • Familiarity with DOT Federal and State regulations on oversize transportation.
  • Ability to read and process permits and paperwork.
  • Able to tie equipment down per DOT requirements.
  • Availability to work 40 hours a week with overtime and travel when necessary.
  • Prompt and reliable with excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and follow up with minimal direction.
  • Experience in machinery moving or rigging is preferred, but not required.
Travel Requirements
  • Must be able to travel 50% of the time, for up to five months at a time.
