Job summary

Oakmont of Santa Clarita is seeking a Driver (Class B) to safely operate community vehicles and supervise residents during outings. You will assist with loading, ensure compliance with laws, and support activity staff during events.

The role requires a Class B or C license with Passenger Endorsement, a clean background, and good customer service. Health screenings and PPE may be required per guidelines.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Class B or Class C license with Passenger Endorsement.
• Prefer two years of driving experience transporting people.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests (TB).
• Regulatory health and safety protocols may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operate community vehicles safely on outings and when transporting residents.
• Assist with loading residents and belongings onto/off vehicles.
• Follow state and federal driving laws and vehicle inspection standards.
• Demonstrate safe driving and punctual transport of residents.
• Act as a member of activity staff during outings and within the community.
• Maintain a safe environment for staff, residents, and guests.
• Encourage teamwork across departments.

The Driver is responsible for ensuring the safe driving of the community’s vehicles and supervision of the residents during community outings or trips. Additionally, they may assist in setting up and breaking down activities and events in the Community, in accordance with the company’s mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Operate community vehicles safely on outings, excursions, special activities, and personal resident appointments.
• Assist with the safe loading of residents and their belongings onto and off-of-community vehicles.
• Follow all state and federal laws when operating community vehicles.
• Comply with standards and processes for proper vehicle inspection and driving. Demonstrate safe driving in getting residents transported. Observes speed limits yet are still punctual and safe in transporting people.
• Act as a member of the activity staff when on outings/excursions and within the community.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have either a Class B or Class C license with Passenger Endorsement to drive the bus
• Prefer two (2) years of experience driving a vehicle/van/bus transporting people.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests
• For the health and safety of our team members and residents, Oakmont Management Group may require team members to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and to wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines.
