Job summary

Oakmont Management Group, operating Ivy Living communities, seeks a Driver to transport residents safely on community outings and events. You will assist with loading/unloading, follow all driving laws, and help maintain a secure environment for residents and staff.

The role requires a valid Class B/C license with Passenger Endorsement, a high school diploma, and 2 years of driving with passengers. Health screenings and background checks are required; immunization/ppe protocols may apply.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have Class B or Class C license with Passenger Endorsement to drive the bus.
• Prefer two years of experience driving vehicles transporting people.
• Good written and verbal communication with staff, residents, and families.
• Pass Criminal Background check and Health Screening (including TB).
• Vaccination and PPE requirements may be requested per regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Operate community vehicles safely for outings, excursions, and resident appointments.
• Assist with loading residents and belongings onto/off vehicles.
• Follow all state and federal driving laws and safety standards.
• Perform vehicle inspections and drive safety demonstrations for residents.
• Serve as an activity staff member during outings and within the community.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, residents, and guests.
• Promote teamwork and collaboration across departments.

The Driver is responsible for ensuring the safe driving of the community’s vehicles and supervision of the residents during community outings or trips. Additionally, they may assist in setting up and breaking down activities and events in the Community, in accordance with the company’s mission and values.

Responsibilities:

• Operate community vehicles safely on outings, excursions, special activities, and personal resident appointments.
• Assist with the safe loading of residents and their belongings onto and off-of-community vehicles.
• Follow all state and federal laws when operating community vehicles.
• Comply with standards and processes for proper vehicle inspection and driving. Demonstrate safe driving in getting residents transported. Observes speed limits yet are still punctual and safe in transporting people.
• Act as a member of the activity staff when on outings/excursions and within the community.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have either a Class B or Class C license with Passenger Endorsement to drive the bus
• Prefer two (2) years of experience driving a vehicle/van/bus transporting people.
• Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests
• For the health and safety of our team members and residents, Oakmont Management Group may require team members to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and to wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines.
