Job summary

Memorial Medical Nursing and Rehabilitation seeks a dedicated transport aide to assist residents with loading and unloading from facility vehicles and safely transport them to appointments and activities. Duties include maintaining vehicle condition, monitoring maintenance logs, and coordinating routine servicing.

Must demonstrate CNA training and a clean driving record, with flexibility for scheduling changes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Must have CNA training and maintain CE for certification.
• Ability to read, comprehend instructions and manuals.
• Must be able to pass drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with loading and unloading from facility vehicles.
• Safely transport residents to medical appointments and scheduled activities.
• Maintain interior and exterior of vehicles for safety and appearance.
• Monitor and document vehicle maintenance logs; arrange routine servicing.
• Demonstrate safe patient transfer techniques and mobility assistance.
• Lift and mobilize resident weights up to 75 pounds when needed.
• Flexible with work times to accommodate late appointments or activities.

Job description

Assists residents with loading and unloading from facility approved vehicles. Ensures the safe transportation of residents to scheduled medical appointments or other approved activities, resident outings, etc. Maintains the interior and exterior of facility vehicles to promote safe and comfortable transport for the residents and project a positive image in the community. Monitors vehicle maintenance logs and delivers vehicle for regularly scheduled maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, etc. All other duties as assigned Must be flexible with work time (in the event a resident appointment or activity runs late Must have training and be able to return demonstrate safe clinical based transfer techniques for: Ingress Egress of Mobile Patients with Van Transfer of patients into and out of Wheelchair Properly securing WC bound residents into bays in Vans Must be able to lift transfer and mobilize patient weights of up to 70 pounds by self in confined areas inside Van. Must be able to make complex decisions involving highly dependent patient base. Supervisory Requirements This position has no supervisor responsibilities Qualification Education and/or Experience Minimum of a High School Diploma or a GED Minimum – 25 years old Must have a valid DL Must be familiar with GPS and local driving area. No Traffic Crimes in the last 7 years. DUI, DWS, Reckless Driving, No Traffic Felonies Multiple DUI, or DWS, Leaving Scene with Injuries, Assault with Vehicle Not more than 2 moving violations in 3 years Not more than one accident in 3 years Pass a drug screen and background check Language Skills Ability to read, write and understand job related instructions and manuals Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, coworkers, and residents. Mathematical Skills Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in the Microsoft Suite products. Must have successfully completed CNA training and maintain all CE to maintain certification.
