Job summary

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of hospital vehicles; use email and mobile device for work orders.

Position Summary:

The Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of patients, new admissions, and business materials to and from Eagleville Hospital. This role requires strong attention to safety, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to operate hospital vehicles efficiently while adhering to all regulations and hospital policies.

Objectives / Responsibilities:
Transportation Duties:
  • Drive regularly scheduled hospital runs.
  • Drive special and emergency runs as requested.
  • Ensure all patients are transported safely and treated with dignity and respect.
  • Assist patients as needed when entering or exiting the vehicle.
Vehicle Maintenance & Safety:
  • Follow a preventative maintenance schedule for all hospital vehicles.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and report any issues promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of hospital vehicles.
  • Utilize basic computer skills for managing email and work assignments.
  • Operate an iPhone or similar device to receive and complete work order assignments.

Educational Requirements:
  • High school diploma required.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must possess a current and valid Class C driver’s license.
  • Experience in transporting patients in a Behavioral Health or Hospital Setting is preferred.
  • CPR certification preferred.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to drive long and short distances. A run could take up to 2 hours each way.
  • Ability to stand, sit, and operate a motor vehicle for extended periods.
