Job summary

Sigma Foods is seeking a route delivery driver to deliver presold Hispanic brand meats and cheeses to supermarket clients on an assigned route. The role operates Monday through Friday on a second shift, based in Vernon, CA, under minimal supervision.

You will unload, stock per customer specs, collect signed receipts, handle invoices and credits, and maintain vehicle records while participating in daily inventory reconciliations. Requires 1 year route sales experience and a valid license.

Qualifications

• One year of sales route experience.
• Fluent in Spanish and intermediate proficiency in English (DOT Requirement).
• Valid driver's license for state of residence, and vehicle insurance as required by state.
• MVR which meets Sigma driving standards.

Responsibilities

• Unload product at customers' locations and stock according to customer specifications; collect signed receipts.
• Load truck at distribution center; acknowledge and sign receipt of loaded product.
• Perform accounts receivable activities including issuing invoices and credit memos; manage delivery paperwork.
• Inspect vehicle and maintain records; report any issues or violations.
• Participate in daily inventory and product return reconciliations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

Under minimal supervision, delivers presold product orders to supermarket clients on an assigned route. The product is Hispanic branded meats and cheeses. This is a Monday-Friday second shift position in the city of Vernon CA.

Essential Job Functions

• Unload product at customers' locations and stock according to customer specifications; responsible for collecting signed receipt documents from customers in accordance with company policy.
• Load truck at distribution center, acknowledge and sign receipt of product loaded at distribution center or received from carrier.
• Perform accounts receivable activities including issuing and reviewing signed invoices and credit memos; follow procedures for inventory proof of delivery and returns; receive payment for product delivered.
• Inspect vehicle and maintain vehicle/driver records, current license plates and insurance, and routine maintenance as required by company procedures and DOT/State regulations; promptly report any vehicle mechanical issues, accidents, or driving violations.
• Participate with Administration in daily inventory and product return reconciliations; verify all scheduled product deliveries were completed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• One year of sales route experience.
• Fluent in Spanish and intermediate proficiency in English (DOT Requirement).
• Valid driver's license for state of residence, and vehicle insurance as required by state.
• MVR which meets Sigma driving standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering refrigerated food to stores.

Able to work in a cold environment of approximately 34˚ F for prolonged periods of time.

Able to travel up to 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements

Able to sit and drive for a full shift of at least 8 hours.

Able to climb up/down, in/out of truck cab and truck body.

Able to stand for at least 4 hours.

Can repeatedly lift and move 30-pound boxes/buckets on/off shelves or cart/hand-truck.

Can repeatedly turn, twist, kneel, stoop, stand, rotate, bend, push or pull to move 30 pounds.

Able to repeatedly move 75-pound load on a cart/hand-truck without assistance.
