ARC-IV is hiring a Driver in California to transport passengers per route and schedule, within ADA guidelines, maintaining safety and professional standards.

A non-exempt, licensed position that must have the ability to transport individuals as described within the Americans with Disabilities Act in a friendly, courteous and professional manner within the allotted time window as designated by the Paratransit Service Contracts.
Must be flexible to change as well as knowledgeable of the California Highway Patrol's Motor Carrier Safety Compliances. Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements.
Drives bus to transport passengers over specified routes to local or distant points according to time schedule by performing the following duties.
11 . Drivers shall be trained in passenger assistance techniques for developmentally / physically disabled persons. At minimum drivers will have knowledge of the procedures to use for boarding and exiting riders onto the vehicle, and emergency procedures / evacuation in case of fire, accident, bad weather and other emergencies.
11 . Will conduct themselves in a professional manner at all time while on duty.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Must be able to communicate(read, write, speak) at least 50% in the English language.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Must posses a California Commercial Class B license with Passenger (P) endorsement. Must have a clean DMV Record. (Must provide a 10 year DMV printout prior to hire).
