Job summary

Sterling is seeking a dedicated Truck Driver to transport loads safely and efficiently from loading to delivery points in Dallas, TX. You will operate the truck under state and federal laws, follow signals, and assist with loading/unloading when needed.

The role requires a valid CDL, ability to maintain paperwork, and a focus on safety and timeliness. Airline pickup and delivery experience is a plus, with opportunities to travel as required.

Qualifications

• Must hold Commercial Driver's License (CDL) appropriate for weight of vehicle to be operated.
• Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal/state regulations.
• Prior experience in transportation a plus.
• Airline pickup and delivery experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Reports to: Station ManagerJob Status (FLSA): Full-Time – Non-ExemptLocation: Dallas, TexasPosition Summary:The Truck Driver will safely and efficiently freight to customers in a timely and professional manner.Duties and Responsibilities:• Operates a truck according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.• Transports loads safely and in a timely manner over required route, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations.• Deftly maneuvers truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas; follows loading crew signals.• Assists with loading of or loads and unloads freight, using specialized equipment when warranted. • Maintains signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork; delivers documentation to shipping office or other appropriate staff when delivery route is complete.• Facilitates routine service on trucks, which may include checking oil, water, gasoline, and air; reports maintenance malfunctions.• Performs other related duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points.• Ability to remain focused in busy environment.Experience:• Must hold required commercial driver’s license appropriate for weight of vehicle to be operated.• Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state department(s) of transportation regulations.• Prior experience in the transportation industry a plus.Airline pickup and delivery experience a plusPhysical Requirements:• Prolonged periods sitting in truck for long periods of time.• Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds at a time.• Must be able to travel frequently.
