Job summary

St. John’s Meadows in Rochester, NY is seeking a full-time Driver to transport residents and guests safely and courteously. The driver provides excellent customer service, performs daily vehicle inspections, and supports dispatch with scheduling.

Shifts are Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:00pm or 9:00am-5:30pm with occasional nights/weekends. Must have CDL A or B with Passenger endorsement, DOT card, and wheelchair bus experience. Must be 21+, and comply with DOT drug/alcohol requirements.

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma is required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid New York CDL with Passenger endorsement and current DOT Card.
• Wheelchair bus experience and CDL B also acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Transport residents and guests safely and courteously.
• Perform daily vehicle safety inspections.
• Maintain clean, operational vehicles.
• Assist passengers in and out of vehicles as needed.
• Relay scheduling information to dispatch and document trips.

Available Shifts: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00 pm and 9:00 am-5:30 pm

** Occasional nights and weekends may be required for special events. **

Position Summary:

The Driver is responsible for providing excellent customer service to all residents, their guests, volunteers, St. John’s employees, to and from their appointments and/or events, safely, courteously and reliably.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform daily vehicle safety inspections
• Maintain clean vehicles.
• Transport passengers for appointments, safely, courteously and reliably.
• Assist passengers in and out of vehicles as needed.
• Relay any information that assists dispatch with daily schedules.
• Record times and mileages for all trips on a daily basis.
• Attend scheduled staff meetings.
• Some weekend and evening work may be required, may need to work other hours than normally assigned or after normal end shift, and/or may be assigned to another shift as needed.
• Arrive on time, prepared to work.
• Perform daily vehicle safety inspections.
• Provide outstanding customer service to all residents, guests, volunteers, employees.
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and possess ability to navigate within the Greater Rochester area.
• Obey New York State Traffic laws at all times.

Qualifications:

• GED or High School Graduate
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must meet DOT standards regarding drug abuse and alcohol misuse
• Maintain a valid New York State Commercial Driver’s License (CDL- A or B) with Passenger endorsement and current DOT Card.
• Wheelchair bus experience
• CDL B

• Visual and auditory acuity, walking, climbing stairs, pushing wheelchairs, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and bending to secure wheelchairs.
• Exposure to Conditions:
