Habilitative Systems, Inc. in Chicago, IL is seeking a Part-Time Driver to support transportation for Residential services and program activities. The role offers an hourly rate of $16.60 to $20.75 in a part-time schedule.

The Driver will transport materials and consumers to medical appointments and outings, pick up mail, and ensure vehicle upkeep. A High School diploma or GED and 3 years of transportation experience (including work with individuals with intellectual disabilities) are required.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Three years of transportation experience, including 1–2 years with individuals with intellectual disabilities; if no HS/GED, five years total transport experience with IDs.
• Valid driver's license (Class C), auto insurance; drug/alcohol testing; capable of operating a fifteen-passenger vehicle; Illinois safe driving certification; clean driving record.

Responsabilités

• Transport contract work to and from Contractor sites daily, supervising loading/unloading the vehicle.
• Pick-up and drop off Agency mail including the Pony (mail from satellite locations).
• Transport Residential consumers to and from the program daily, to and from medical appointments when needed, and transport consumers to various outings/Field Trips when needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Under direct supervision, provides transportation of work materials, transport consumers in Residential services to the program, medical appointments etc., and transport consumers in program to special activities as needed.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Transport contract work to and from Contractor sites daily, supervising consumers loading and unloading the vehicle,
• Pick-up and drop off Agency mail including the Pony (mail from satellite locations),
• Transport Residential consumers to and from the program daily, to and from medical appointments when needed, and transport consumers to various outings/Field Trips when needed,
• Responsible for upkeep of vehicles

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must possess a High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Must have three (3) years of transportation experience including one (1) – two (2) years working with individuals with intellectual disabilities for applicants with high school or GED qualification. Applicants without high school or GED qualification must have five (5) years transportation experience including one (1) – two (2) years experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities in addition to ability to read and write as well as the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license "C" category, and auto insurance. Must submit to drug/alcohol testing as requested. Mustdemonstrate the ability to operate a fifteen-passenger vehicle. Must possess certification of safe driving from State of Illinois. Must possess no record of driving related convictions. Must possess no record of license suspension or of being revoked. Must demonstrate sensitivity to working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
