Role Description

The Driver is a full-time, on-site role based in Chicago, IL, responsible for safely operating moving trucks to transport customers’ household goods to and from their destinations. Day-to-day tasks include driving trucks to scheduled locations, loading and unloading furniture and belongings, and ensuring all items are handled with care and properly secured. The Driver communicates with customers throughout the move, addresses questions or concerns, and provides courteous, professional service that reflects the company’s family-focused values. The role also involves following assigned routes, complying with all traffic and safety regulations, completing basic vehicle inspections, and collaborating with the moving crew to maintain efficient and timely operations. Drivers may assist with basic paperwork related to moves and are expected to represent the company positively in every customer interaction.

Qualifications

• Strong truck driving skills, including safe operation of moving trucks and adherence to traffic and safety laws.
• Valid CDL Class C (or appropriate commercial driver’s license) and a clean driving record.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clearly interacting with customers.
• High-quality customer service skills, with a focus on professionalism, respect, and problem-solving during moves.
• Ability to perform the physical aspects of the job, including lifting, carrying, and maneuvering furniture and boxes.
