Job summary

DILE Trucking LLC in Charleston, SC, is hiring a full-time driver to safely operate commercial vehicles within a 300-mile radius. You will handle documentation, perform pre/post-trip inspections, log hours, and coordinate with dispatch.

The role emphasizes safety, on-time deliveries, and professional communication with clients and warehouse staff. The position requires a Class A CDL, a TWIC card, and a clean driving record; 2 years of drayage experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL required.
• TWIC card required.
• Minimum 2 years ocean container drayage experience preferred.
• No more than 6 points in the last 3 years.
• Clean background check and driving test.
• No DUI/DWI in the last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a commercial vehicle within a 300-mile radius.
• Ensure proper documentation.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, chassis & trailer.
• Maintain accurate logs of working hours, routes, and deliveries.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and warehouse staff.
• Follow all DOT regulations and company safety standards.
• Report any vehicle issues or delays promptly.
• Utilize electronic dispatches for daily plan.
• Inspect vehicles before and after each trip to ensure proper working order.
• Secure cargo for transport to prevent damage or shifting during transit.
• Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, and delivery details.
• Coordinate deliveries with dispatchers and team members.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.

Job Summary:

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Houry)

Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance is a plus.
• Excellent driving skills and the ability to navigate different road conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Good communication skills to interact with dispatchers and team members effectively.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions on the road.

• Local

Schedule:

• Day shift.
• Monday to Friday.
• Weekends as needed.
