Job summary

Boart Longyear in Arizona seeks a semi-skilled driller assistant to support a range of drilling operations, from core to sonic and rotary rigs. You will help prepare equipment, follow safety protocols, and ensure productive workflow on site.

With 3+ years in drilling or related roles, you will contribute to equipment life, positioning, and accurate surveys for clients, while training newer drillers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent with 3+ years related experience.
• Ability to operate or assist with drilling rigs across core, sonic, rotary or percussion methods.
• Commitment to safety and ability to train others.

Responsibilities

• Assist in semi-skilled drilling across core, sonic, rotary or percussion operations.
• Ensure efficient equipment use, correct hole collar, alignment, offsets, depth and angle.
• Train new drillers in a safe environment.
• Perform client surveys as required.

Job Responsibilities

Provides semi-skilled labour intensive assistance across a wide spectrum of drilling operations in an efficient and safe manner. Operations could include core, sonic, rotary, or percussive drilling rig. This could include the operation of simple equipment/machinery. Responsible for general condition and obtaining optimum life out of all site equipment and tools, location of the collar of the hole, ensuring correct alignment with front and back sites, offsets, depth and setting of the drill at the correct angle. May be responsible for the training of new drillers in a safe environment. Performs surveys according to client.

Education and Experience

Typically requires a High School diploma or GED or equivalent and/or a minimum of 3+ years of directly related experience.
