Job summary

The Staff Pad, based in Mabank, TX, seeks an experienced Driller Locator to support safe, accurate horizontal directional drilling operations on pipeline and infrastructure projects. You will track the drill head, operate locating equipment, read depth and position, and guide the driller along the bore path.

Responsibilities include confirming utility clearance, potholing, setup of equipment, recording bore logs, and maintaining traffic control and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Driller Locator in HDD projects.
• Ability to read utility locate markings and bore plans.
• Valid driver's license with clean record and background check.

Responsibilities

• Operate walkover locating equipment to track the drill head.
• Communicate depth, pitch, roll, and position to the driller.
• Walk and mark bore path and verify utility marks before drilling.
• Confirm clearance from utilities and direct potholing at crossings.
• Set up locating equipment, change transmitters, troubleshoot interference.
• Record bore logs and support as-built documentation.
• Assist with setup, drill rod handling, mud mixing, pullback, and cleanup.
• Maintain traffic control devices and perform flagging as assigned.
• Follow all safety requirements and electrical strike procedures.
