Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Drill Operator in Virginia to safely operate a track mounted Kelly Bar rotary drill. You will perform maintenance on the drill and pumps, assist in loading and stemming blasts, and support in daily safety practices and inspections.

Hours are 6:30AM - 5:30PM with weekends as necessary; base range mirrors industry standards. Eligible candidates possess a high school diploma or GED, with preferred experience in hydraulic/electrical systems and Kelly Bar drills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Experience with hydraulic systems is preferred.
• Experience with electrical systems is preferred.
• Experience with Kelly Bar driven drills is preferred.
• Experience with electric powered drills is preferred.
• ATF clearance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate a drill and related equipment following company safety standards.
• Complete daily drill operations tasks including inspections, greasing, logs, and bit replacements.
• Perform maintenance on the drill and pump systems.
• Assist in loading and stemming of blast patterns.
• Participate in safety inspections and follow MSHA safety rules.
• Operate other equipment (loaders, haul trucks) as needed.
• Assist in training co-workers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
