Job summary

Lambert's Cable is seeking a Drill Operator (Entry-Level) to install underground telecommunications cables. You will determine bore paths, operate drill equipment, verify utilities by potholing, and maintain bore schedules in varying conditions.

Ideal candidates are 18+ with US work authorization, a High School Diploma or GED, and a valid Class A CDL or willingness to obtain one. This role supports site setup, maintenance, and safety-conscious fieldwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years old and authorized to work in the US.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record; CDL required or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Determine bore path and locate utilities.
• Safely operate and control all necessary equipment to complete tasks.
• Verify existing utilities by potholing to determine bore path.
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule.
• Responsible for site setup, clean‑up, and equipment maintenance.
• Perform work in all weather conditions.

What you’ll do

• Determine bore path and locate utilities
• Safely operate and control all necessary equipment to complete assigned tasks
• Verify existing utilities by potholing to determine bore path
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule
• Responsible for site set-up, clean-up, and equipment maintenance
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Valid Class A Commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it
• Experience with drilling equipment, including their capabilities, limitations, and drill setup and design processes

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level, in confined space and remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
