Job summary

Halliburton is seeking candidates to engage in the manufacturing and assembly of fixed cutter drill bits in Conroe, Texas. As part of this role, you will be responsible for various tasks, including grinding molds and loading materials into bit molds.

The ideal candidate will hold a high school diploma and possess at least two years of Bit Fabrication experience. A solid understanding of manufacturing environments is essential. This is a full-time position in the manufacturing and supply chain sector with a focus on operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Typically acquired skills through 2 years of Bit Fabrication experience.
• Must have basic knowledge of manufacturing and shop work environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform operations specific to manufacturing and assembly of fixed cutter drill bits.
• Grind and fill the inside of a graphite mold, forming sand and clay components.
• Fabricate sand castings for junk slots and fluid entry areas.
• Load bit molds with materials and monitor furnace temperatures.
• Assist others as directed and perform own work.

Job description

Job Duties

• Under general supervision, performs operations specific to the manufacturing and assembly of fixed cutter drill bits, including general assembly, mold fabrication and brazing operations.
• Grind and fill the inside of a graphite mold, forming sand and clay components to form specified contours as specified by engineering design requirements.
• Fabrication of sand castings to form junk slots and the fluid entry areas while using clay to form contoured waterways.
• Using special equipment, load bit molds with powdered metals, steel blanks, catalyst and flux to create desired compaction. Load/unload furnace and monitor furnace temperatures to meet process specifications.
• Performs own work and provides assistance to others as directed.
• Job tasks, correctly performed, have minimal impact upon the viability of the organization.
• Error is readily ascertainable by the supervisor and can be corrected.
