Job summary

Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials seeks a Dredge Operator for our Cleveland, TX plant to support daily operations by operating equipment and performing plant tasks.

The role requires experience with large aggregate equipment and welding/general mechanics knowledge; MSHA certification is preferred. The candidate should be able to work evenings and weekends when necessary, and will join a team dedicated to safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience with large aggregate equipment preferred.
• MSHA certification preferred.
• Welding and basic mechanics knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to assist with daily production and operations.
• Assist plant supervisor with daily operations and upkeep of the plant.
• Inspect all areas of the plant to perform maintenance, repairs and screen changes.
• Perform welding and fabrication duties as needed.
• Detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions and respond accordingly.
• Follow directions.

Responsibilities

About the Role

• Operate equipment to assist with the daily production and operations of the plant.
• Assist plant supervisor with the daily operations and upkeep of the plant.
• Ability to inspect all areas of the plant to perform necessary maintenance, repairs and screen changes.
• Perform welding and fabrication duties as needed.
• Detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions and respond accordingly.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends when necessary.
• Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in MSHA policies and procedures manual, and OSHA guidelines.
• Perform additional job duties as assigned.

About You

We Require

• Experience preferred in large aggregate equipment including loader, haul truck, water truck, and skid steers.
• Knowledge of welding and general mechanics preferred.
• High school education or GED equivalent.
• MSHA certification preferred.
