Job summary

Associated Recreation Council (ARC) is seeking an experienced Nature Drawing Instructor to lead a beginner-friendly class at Miller Community Center in Seattle. The position is part-time for a 6-week session, with a schedule of six weekly classes on Wednesdays and a starting pay around $27/hr.

You will teach fundamentals of drawing inspired by plants and simple natural subjects, creating a relaxed, supportive learning environment for participants of all ages.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching art in a recreational, educational, or community setting (preferred).
• Experience working with seniors and/or young children (parent/tot).
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Prepare lesson plans, materials, and classroom setup/cleanup.
• Adapt instruction to meet participant needs and abilities.

If you're a talented artist with a flair for flora, vegetation, and greenery, we'd love for you to join our team at Miller Community Center. We're seeking an experienced drawing instructor to lead a beginner-friendly class in a relaxed and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable teaching the fundamentals of drawing, including line, shape, and value. You'll guide your students as they create expressive sketches inspired by plants and simple natural subjects.

This position will last 6 weeks, with the possibility of future teaching opportunities depending on program needs and instructor interest.
