The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree and Maryland teaching credentials, with a focus on pedagogy and curriculum. Expect collaboration with staff and active participation in school committees and after-hours events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Maryland Educator Certificate appropriate to the assignment area.
• Eligibility for Maryland Educator License appropriate to the assignment area.
• Strong knowledge of pedagogy, curriculum, and instructional techniques.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes at designated locations and times.
• Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment, both in-person and virtually.
• Plans and implements instructional programs that adhere to system-wide goals and priorities.
• Prepares and documents lesson plans based on adopted curricula and learning environment.
• Creates an instructional environment conducive to students' intellectual, physical, social and emotional development.
• Communicates standards, achievements and deficiencies to students and parents.
• Meets with students and parents.
• Maintains complete and accurate student records (academic, attendance, disciplinary).
• Monitors and assesses students’ academic progress.
• Oversee the appropriate use and care of textbooks and equipment.
• Collaborates with administrators, teachers, and community members in education of students.
• Attend staff meetings and serve on committees.
