Job description

Job Responsibilities:
  • Teach classes focused in drama skill building: warm ups/games, acting tools, character development, improv, team building, design/art, movement, etc.
  • Collaborate with co-teacher to plan curriculum during weekly meetings
  • Share tasks, responsibility and leadership with co-teacher while with students
  • Support discipline, focus, and engagement
  • Check students in and out for the day
  • Meet expectations as defined by the Park School Employee Essential Expectations

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Enthusiasm for working with elementary and middle school-aged children
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to take initiative and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in theater production, stage management, or working with young performers is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills with students, colleagues, and other adults, organizational, and communication skills
  • Creative problem-solving skills, a positive attitude that allows one to cooperate and collaborate effectively with others

  • Demonstrate commitment to providing support to students and families from diverse cultures and backgrounds

Physical Requirements:
  • The ability to sit and stand uninterrupted for 30 minute periods of time.
  • The ability to regularly walk on and travel across variable surfaces (e.g. level flooring, stairs, turf, gravel, asphalt, etc.).
  • The ability to lead, supervise and accompany students to all areas of the school campus (including all indoor and outdoor areas), including during day‑to‑day responsibilities and in case of emergency.
  • The ability to regularly stand, sit, crouch, and kneel down in order to support students.
  • The ability to work outdoors, year‑round, in variable weather conditions.
  • The ability to lift and hold 15 lbs overhead.
  • The ability to occasionally transport (e.g., move or drag) 25 lbs.
  • The ability to maintain focus and composure in an energetic and, at times, loud environment.
