Job summary

HNTB Corporation in Lake Mary, Florida is seeking a senior engineering professional to lead drainage design for transportation projects, including stormwater facilities, floodplain compensation sites, and drainage hydraulics analyses. You will use OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD Civil 3D, StormWise and HEC-RAS to produce plans, reports and specifications and will mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience.

  • Uses senior-level technical expertise to consider a broad range of engineering solutions.

  • Prepares construction and permitting documents, including reports, plans, and specifications.
  • Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team's work within the technical discipline.
  • Coordinates technical aspects of the project with client counterparts and teaming partners at staff level.
  • Leads discipline delivery on larger, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Do
  • Uses senior-level technical expertise to consider broad range of engineering solutions.
  • Responsible for the discipline-specific planning, work distribution, and leadership and adherence to the schedule, and budget on complex or unusual engineering projects.
  • Assists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
  • Develops scope of work and level of effort and manages adherence to scope and budget on complex or unusual engineering projects within discipline.
  • Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team’s work within the technical discipline.
  • Provides technical guidance and mentoring to team members to achieve overall project objectives on complex or unusual engineering projects.
  • Coordinates technical aspects of the project with client counterpart and teaming partners at staff level for work within the discipline on complex or unusual engineering projects.
  • Leads discipline delivery on larger, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
  • Assists with coordination and planning of schedules, hours, and distribution of work for other disciplines on multi-discipline projects on complex or unusual engineering projects
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in Engineering and 7 years of relevant experience, or PhD in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience
What You'll Bring
  • Performs drainage design for transportation projects, including stormwater management facility, floodplain compensation site, storm drain, ditch, culvert, bridge hydraulics, and scour analysis.
  • Works in OpenRoads Designer and AutoCAD Civil 3D production platforms, and use of a variety of technical design software packages (StormWise, HEC-RAS, OpenRoads Designer Drainage).
  • Prepares construction and permitting documents, including reports, plans, and specifications.
  • Coordinates work planning and design effectively across multiple technical disciplines.
  • Prepares high quality deliverables that are on time, and within budget and scop
  • Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
  • Performs quality control review of deliverables.
What We Prefer
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
