Our Client is seeking a Drainage Engineer to support and lead drainage analysis and design efforts for transportation, municipal, and land development projects throughout Florida and the Southeast.
Salary Range: $80-$130k+ (Flexible/Based on Experience)
This position is ideal for a motivated engineer with experience in stormwater management, hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analyses, and drainage system design. Depending on qualifications and experience, candidates may be hired at either the Staff Engineer or Project Engineer level.
The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, transportation engineers, planners, and GIS professionals to develop innovative and technically sound drainage solutions that meet client objectives and regulatory requirements.
Experience with FDOT drainage design, OpenRoads Designer (ORD), and transportation corridor projects is highly desirable.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for roadway, municipal, and stormwater infrastructure projects.
- Design stormwater management systems, conveyance networks, ponds, culverts, and related drainage facilities.
- Prepare drainage reports, calculations, technical memoranda, and supporting documentation.
- Develop and review construction plans, specifications, and engineering details.
- Coordinate with project teams to deliver drainage components of transportation and civil engineering projects.
- Support project permitting efforts and coordinate with regulatory agencies.
- Utilize engineering software and modeling tools to evaluate drainage system performance and stormwater impacts.
- Review survey, topographic, utility, hydrologic, and environmental data for project development.
- Participate in client meetings and assist with technical presentations and project discussions.
- Contribute to proposal preparation and business development activities as experience increases.
- Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance to developing engineers and designers (Project Engineer level).
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 3+ years of drainane, stormwater, or water resources engineering experience.
- Experience performing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment.

- 5+ years of drainage, stormwater, transportation, or water resources engineering experience.
- Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain Florida licensure through reciprocity.
- Demonstrated experience managing technical tasks and coordinating project deliverables.

Candidates with one or more of the following qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply:
- MicroStation and/or Civil 3D experience.
- Experience preparing drainage reports for transportation projects.
- Knowledge of FDOT Drainage Manual and applicable Florida regulatory requirements.
- Experience with stormwater permitting and environmental coordination.
- Familiarity with GIS platforms and spatial analysis tools.
- Experience with HEC-RAS, ICPR, PondPack, HydroCAD, HY-8, or similar hydraulic modeling software.
- Knowledge of watershed, floodplain, and stormwater management principles.
