Job summary

HR Green in Houston is seeking a licensed Drainage Design Engineer to join our Drainage/Hydraulics team. You will own drainage design tasks, work directly with clients, mentor junior staff, and advance toward project management or technical leadership.

You will lead analyses, collaborate with Project Managers, and sign engineering documents as an authorized representative, using Geopak Drainage and ORD-DU in project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• 6+ years of progressive design/engineering experience, including drainage design.
• Current Professional Engineer (PE) registration in states HR Green conducts business, or ability to obtain within six months.
• Ability to independently complete engineering designs and sign engineering documents as an authorized representative.
• Experience with drainage, hydrology, and hydraulic analysis and design.
• Proficiency with Geopak Drainage and/or OpenRoads Designer - Drainage and Utilities (ORD-DU).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently lead drainage, hydrology, and hydraulic analysis and design assignments.
• Support drainage analysis and design for municipal, county, and state roadway projects.
• Make significant design decisions and take ownership of engineering deliverables.
• Serve as a technical expert and provide guidance to staff.
• Perform QA/QC reviews to ensure accuracy and quality of deliverables.
• Prepare, review, sign, and seal engineering documents as authorized representative.
