Job summary

Zoom Drain is seeking a Drain & Sewer Technician to service Beach Cities/South Bay and surrounding areas of Los Angeles. The role involves diagnosing drain problems, explaining findings to customers, and performing quality drain cleaning, hydro jetting, camera inspections, and preventative maintenance for residential and commercial customers.

We value hands-on experience, reliable communication, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Hands-on drain cleaning experience in residential or commercial settings.
• Ability to diagnose drain/sewer problems and propose maintenance, repair or replacement.
• Comfort with using mobile devices for dispatch and documentation.
• Willingness to perform physical work, including lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.

Responsibilities

Job description

This position will serve the Beach Cities/South Bay and surrounding areas of Los Angeles.*

We're looking for a Drain & Sewer Technician with hands-on drain cleaning experience, strong customer skills, good judgment, and the drive to continue developing their trade.

At Zoom Drain, we specialize in drains and sewers. Our technicians diagnose problems, communicate what they find, recommend solutions, and perform quality work for residential and commercial customers.

We invest in training and continued development, with opportunities to build skills in hydro jetting, camera inspection, locating, diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and repair.

Drain & Sewer Technician | WHAT WE DO

• Provide exceptional customer service

• Diagnose drain, sewer, and drainage problems and identify appropriate maintenance, repair, or replacement solutions

• Explain findings and recommendations clearly and obtain customer authorization for approved work

• Clear clogged drain and sewer lines using professional drain cleaning equipment

• Perform hydro jetting and preventative drain and sewer maintenance

• Perform camera inspections, locating, and flow testing to diagnose problems and verify results

• Document completed work with clear job notes, photos, and video

• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment and follow company safety standards

Drain & Sewer Technician | WHAT YOU BRING

• Hands-on professional drain cleaning experience, including independently using professional cable machines or drain snakes in the field to clear drain and sewer stoppages in residential and/or commercial settings

• Customer-facing service experience, with the ability to establish rapport, ask good questions, explain findings, present options, and make recommendations

• Mechanical aptitude and confidence working with tools and equipment

• Good problem-solving ability and the ability to work independently

• Professional communication with customers and coworkers

• Comfortable using a mobile phone and tablet for dispatching and job documentation

• Able to perform physical and sometimes dirty work, including lifting and/or carrying up to 75 lbs., standing for extended periods, kneeling, and crouching

• Valid driver's license in good standing

Additional experience with hydro jetting, sewer cameras, locating, diagnostics, pumps, repairs, or installation work is a plus.
