Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience as a Drafter or Technical Illustrator.
• Experience with Creo Parametric or similar 3D modeling software.
• Experience with spreadsheets and file management software.
• Understanding of manufacturing methods.
• Knowledge of farming practices and equipment.
• Ability to communicate clearly in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed drawings of parts and assemblies in Creo according to 3D models, sketches, and proposals.
• Dimension and annotate drawings to communicate requirements to production.
• Create exploded view drawings to depict relationships of components and systems.
• Position instructions, symbols, and comments on drawings for installation and maintenance.
• Assist design team with prototype and production releases in Windchill.
• Create tooling work orders and deliver drawings to tooling.
• Collaborate with engineers to design, layout, or detail components and systems.
• Create or revise 3D solid models as requested.
• Produce illustrations for manuals describing operation and maintenance of mechanical systems.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing, quality, and supply management.

Full Time Technical Assaria, KS, US

Great Plains Manufacturing is seeking a Drafting Technician to provide 3D modeling and 2D drawing support to engineers developing agricultural equipment.

This position works Mon-Thurs from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is based in our facility in Assaria, KS.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed drawings of new and revised parts and assemblies in Creo according to 3D models, engineering sketches, and design proposals
• Dimension and annotate drawings to clearly communicate requirements to production
• Create exploded view drawings to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines
• Position instructions, symbols, and comments onto drawings that illustrate and describe installation and maintenance details
• Assist design team with prototype and production releases of new and revised parts, weldments, and assemblies in PTC Windchill
• Create tooling work orders and deliver drawings to tooling department for all new tooling and tooling revisions
• Work in conjunction with engineers to design, layout, or detail components and systems
• Create or revise 3D solid models as requested
• Produce illustrations for reference manuals and technical publications to describe operation and maintenance of mechanical systems
• Provide technical support to manufacturing, quality, and supply management organizations

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of experience as a Drafter or Technical Illustrator
• Experience with Creo Parametric or similar 3D modeling software
• Experience with spreadsheets and file management software
• Understanding of manufacturing methods
• Knowledge of farming practices and equipment
• Ability to communicate clearly and in a fast-paced environment within a diverse group
