Job summary

RMS Roller-Grinder in Harrisburg, SD is seeking a Drafting Engineer to advance manufacturing prints, customer approval drawings, and BOM documentation. You will collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Sales, and Production to improve drawings and processes on site.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Drafting, Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or related field.
• 2–4+ years of CAD/drafting experience.
• SolidWorks experience preferred.
• Experience creating fabrication, weldment, machining, assembly, and equipment drawings.
• Experience with laser/plasma cutting, welding, assembly, and machining preferred.
• ASME Y14.5 and GD&T preferred with correct drawing annotation.
• Experience supporting BOM updates, purchasing, ERP/MRP data beneficial.
• Willingness to work onsite in Harrisburg, SD and collaborate with multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Create and improve fabrication, weldment, machining, assembly, and equipment drawings.
• Update and maintain manufacturing prints for clarity and accuracy.
• Apply GD&T, dimensions, tolerances, and notes as appropriate.
• Support documentation improvements for Production, Service, Purchasing, and Engineering.
• Create customer approval drawings for custom roller mills and layouts.
• Update ERP data and Bills of Materials to ensure accuracy.
• Place purchase orders and assist with component sourcing.
• Develop your design experience under experienced engineers and improve documentation.
• Assist with design changes and identify opportunities to improve quality and efficiency.
• Spend time on the shop floor reviewing fit-up, fabrication, and production questions.
