Job summary

Astyra Corporation in Elkton, MD seeks a Drafter 2 to support our CAD Modeling and Drafting department. You will create 2D drawings and 3D models for product, tooling, and testing components and assemblies.

This on-site role uses Siemens NX for drafting, and you will plan, lay out, draw, and revise detailed part and assembly drawings in line with standard engineering practices. Required: at least 5 years of experience in CAD drafting and modeling; preferred familiarity with GD&T and ASME

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CAD drafting and modeling experience.
• Experience with Siemens NX preferred.
• Familiarity with GD&T and ASME standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lay out, draw, and revise detailed part, assembly, and installation drawings.
• Utilize Siemens NX for drafting tasks.
• Complete production detail drawings.
• Prepare specifications for parts, assemblies, and installations.
• Contribute design modifications to improve manufacturability.

Description

Drafter to support our CAD Modeling and Drafting department. As a member of the CAD Modeling and Drafting department, you’ll create 2D CAD drawings and 3D CAD models for Product, Tooling, and Testing components and assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Plans, lays out, draws, and revises detailed part, assembly, and installation engineering drawings from basic layouts, established references, and standard data in a field of specialization such as structures, devices, mechanics, electrical, or electronics.


• Utilizes computer-aided design equipment, Siemens NX.


• Completes details of major layout drawings prepared by others in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices.


• Determines scaling; inserts necessary reference planes, centering and dimension lines, hidden line interpolations, and sectioning


• Prepares specifications for parts, assemblies, and installations


• Prepares complete production detail drawings


• Contributes design modifications to improve quality of product or facilitate manufacturing operations.

Basic Qualifications

• 5 years min experience in CAD Drafting and modeling

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the application of GD&T and ASME standards
