Job summary

Teledyne Storm Microwave, a Teledyne Technologies Incorporated company, seeks a Drafter for our Woodridge, IL facility. You will create 2D/3D models, develop design packages, and generate assembly instructions for high-reliability microwave components.

Join a team delivering engineering concepts, problem-solving, and collaboration to support manufacturing. Candidates need 5–10 years’ related experience and strong MRP, Excel, and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Requires vocational or technical certificate in a related field.
  • 5–10 years of directly related experience or equivalent.
  • Experience with 2D/3D modeling in Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to team effort as needed.
  • Enter BOMs and create production routings in the MRP system.
  • Support production and provide technical knowledge per drawings and quality standards.
  • Write connector assembly instructions from vendor info and floor input.
  • Produce design packages with 3D/2D drawings and revised technical docs for manufacturing.
  • Troubleshoot and gather data; consult with engineers to resolve production issues.
  • Enter markers into Labelmark software and operate marker printers.
  • Recommend improvements to manufacturing/quality to reduce part costs.
  • Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods.

Job Description

Join Teledyne Storm Microwave and design cutting-edge RF solutions!

We’re a leading manufacturer of high-performance microwave cable assemblies, and we’re looking for a Drafter to join our team in Woodridge, IL. If you’re passionate about engineering concepts, problem-solving, design and visualization and thrive in a collaborative environment, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do
  • Contributing to team effort by assisting as needed
  • Entering BOMs and creating production routings in our MRP system
  • Supports production and provides technical knowledge for the successful completion of products in compliance with Engineering drawings and quality standards.
  • Writing connector assembly instructions from vendor information and input from personnel on the floor.
  • Produce complete design packages including 3D files or 2D drawings, including developing/reviewing/revising technical documents in support of manufacturing processes.
  • Troubleshooting and gathering data, consulting with other engineers to solve issues that arise on the production floor. Support production team to resolve technical issues.
  • Entering markers into Labelmark software and operating marker printers,
  • Recommend and implement process improvements that will enhance manufacturing and quality and reduce cost of parts and assemblies.
  • Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods.
What You Need
  • Vocational or Technical Certificate in related field and at a minimum of 5-10 years of directly related experience, and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (required).
  • Experience with creating 2D/3D Models of components and assemblies in Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor (required)
  • Must be a U.S. Person (includes U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees) (required)
  • Demonstrates attention to detail, organizational, prioritization and follow up skills (required)
  • Must have excellent computer skills (Excel, Word), MRP system experience (required)
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills (required)

Salary Range

$46,100.00-$61,400.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, local regulations (such as minimum wage), education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
