This intimate documentary chronicles the resurgence of traditional Appalachian music through the eyes of a young, blind prodigy. We are seeking a talented Director of Photography for our upcoming independent documentary feature, aiming for a poignant, raw, and visually evocative style. We're looking for someone who can capture authentic moments with sensitivity and a strong sense of visual storytelling. Key responsibilities include collaborating with the director on visual aesthetics, setting up shots, operating the primary camera, and managing lighting for interviews and verite scenes. Experience with documentary filmmaking and natural light is a must, and a reel showcasing previous work is required. Please have access to your own camera package (e.g., capable of 4K, suitable for documentary work) and basic lighting. We are a small production company and this is a paid position, offering $150-300 per day, based on experience and gear. Shoot dates are approximately 15-20 days spread across October 2026, with some potential pickups in November 2026. Days will typically be 10-12 hours. Accommodation and transportation will be provided for any necessary travel outside of Nashville. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a meaningful project with a small, dedicated crew.
