Job summary

Sanford Contractors seeks a Bulldozer Operator to safely and efficiently operate CAT D5-D8 dozers for grading and earthmoving, following grade stakes, GPS guidance, and supervisor directions to achieve required grades.

Education includes a High School diploma or equivalent and OSHA Safety Training. Candidates should have 1+ year of dozer experience, with the ability to perform daily inspections, report maintenance concerns, and participate in safety meetings.

Qualifications

• OSHA Safety Training is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Dozer Operator with 1+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate CAT D5-D8 bulldozers for grading and earthmoving operations.
• Follow grade stakes, GPS, and supervisor directions to achieve required grades.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns.
• Keep equipment clean and in good working condition.
• Identify and report or correct safety hazards.
• Attend daily safety and project meetings.
• Assist in locating underground utilities to prevent damage.
• Mentor team members on safe apparatus operation.
• Restore work areas upon project completion.
• Report planned absences to Foreman with notice.
• Work overtime or extended hours as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Bulldozer Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of bulldozers to perform grading, earthmoving, and site preparation while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety standards.

Essential Duties

• Safely operate CAT D5-D8 bulldozers for grading and earthmoving operations.
• Follow grade stakes, GPS systems, and supervisor directions to achieve required grades.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns.
• Keep equipment clean and in good working condition.
• Identify and report or correct safety hazards.
• Attend daily safety and project meetings.
• Assist in locating underground utilities to prevent damage.
• Mentor team members on safe and proper equipment operation.
• Restore work areas upon project completion.
• Report planned absences to the Foreman with adequate notice.
• Work overtime or extended hours as needed.

Labor Activities- Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift more than 50 lbs, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb ladders regularly. Work involves frequent shoveling, raking, using hand tools and handling materials in and around trenches or uneven terrain. Requires standing or walking for extended periods and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
