Job description

Description
  • Operate Machinery: Set up, operate, and monitor production machines and equipment according to standard operating procedures.
  • Inspect Products: Conduct regular scheduled inspections and report any non-conforming quality issues to Line Operator to ensure products and materials meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Performs visual inspection of each sheet and monitors quality on pallet to ensure conformance to quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot Issues: Identify and resolve operational issues and report major problems to the supervisor.
  • Maintain Records: Accurately record production data, including quantities produced, downtime, and any issues encountered. Complete required documentation related to production runs, including production logs, inspection reports, and incident/accident reports.
  • Adhere to Safety Procedures: Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards, adhering to good housekeeping practices.
  • Clean and Maintain Equipment: Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of machinery and tools to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Report unsafe conditions, damaged machinery, and/or tools to Supervisor.
  • Support Team: Assist with the training of new staff and collaborate with team members to meet production goals. Build positive relationships with company staff; share information with appropriate parties; willingly cooperate with others and carry oneself in an appropriate manner, maintaining courteous and effective interactions and communication with other employees.
  • Handle Materials: Properly handle and adhere to packaging requirements by product and store raw materials and finished products, ensuring they are organized and correctly labeled.
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures.
  • Organize, prioritize and complete work in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner.
  • Exercise effective problem solving techniques, engage in effective conflict resolution, and make timely decisions based upon logical conclusions of factual information.
  • Continues personal competency through training, education, etc.
  • Report to work at the scheduled time, work as scheduled and seldom be absent from work.

Requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate production machinery.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Basic math skills for measuring and recording production data.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as in a team environment. Capable of developing and implementing complex procedures from general instructions while exercising sound judgment and discretion.
  • Willingness and ability to work a 12 hour shift schedule with evening/weekend work (Week 1:M/T/F/Sa, Week 2: Su/W/Th).
Education/Experience/Certifications/Licenses
  • K-Stran Band 1, OJT sign-offs
  • Education Required - High school graduate or equivalent preferred

Work is primarily performed in a manufacturing facility. May involve working under deadlines. Requires: broad range of physical and mental activities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position:

Typical tools, equipment, and machinery utilized include saws (circular saw and radial arm), routers, grinders, manual and power hand tools, micrometers, tape measures, scales, air hoses, air wands, calculators, computers, and overhead vacuum lift. The position involves full shifts in an environment with extreme temperatures exceeding 100°F during summer months.
