Job summary

TreeHouse Foods is seeking a Downline Operator for our Cambridge, MD production line. This 2nd shift role (2:45pm–11:00pm, Mon–Fri; weekends may be required) focuses on safe, efficient operation and packaging of products to specification.

You will follow GMP and PPE policies, monitor line equipment, perform quality checks, complete paperwork, and participate in downtime and maintenance activities. Competitive hourly pay and benefits are included.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift light to moderate loads.
  • Commitment to safety, GMP, and PPE policies.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety policies (LOTO, knife handling, lifting, chemical handling).
  • Maintain quality and PPE procedures; ensure lot traceability.
  • Inform supervisor of issues needing corrective action or repair; submit work orders.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitized work area and proper packaging procedures.
  • Operate and regulate speed of conveyors; set up line equipment.
  • Complete paperwork accurately; verify product specs against sheets.
  • Train and develop personnel as needed.

Job Description
  • Following all safety policies (LOTO, safe knife handling, safe lifting techniques, safe chemical handling)
  • Following all quality, GMP, and PPE policies & procedures (safe material handling, lot traceability, etc.)
  • Keeping supervisor and maintenance informed of issues that require corrective action or repair
  • Submitting work orders as needed
  • Keeping an updated downtime log for downline issues
  • Maintaining a clean, sanitized work area
  • Starting, stopping, and regulating speed of equipment and conveyors
  • Setting up and keeping line equipment running
  • Cleaning packaging containers and equipment
  • Inspecting materials and products at each step of packaging process
  • Completing all necessary paperwork fully and accurately
  • Ensuring the quality and integrity of all product meets specifications by comparing actual product specs to spec sheet
  • Running alternate equipment as needed to support the production line and appropriate maintenance activities
  • Notifying a supervisor/production lead if leaving work area for prolonged period of time
  • Performing other duties as assigned by a production supervisor or production lead
  • Training and developing personnel as needed

Shift: 2nd, 2:45pm to 11pm Monday through Friday. Candidate must be able to work weekends as scheduled, based on volume and customer demand.

Rate of pay: $23.45 - $23.99/hr
