DOT - Truck Driver

Job Description Summary

The successful candidate will work in a team environment alongside co-workers and managers.

  1. Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  2. Report problems to your manager.
  3. Conduct daily pre/post-trip inspections and document them per DOT guidelines.
  4. Obey applicable laws and dispatch instructions.
  5. Monitor vehicle gauges during operation.
  6. Load and unload materials, possibly manually depending on the cargo.
  7. Ensure product quality to the best of your ability.
  8. Perform minor maintenance; report major issues.
  9. Keep the truck clean and organized.
  10. Create a safe work environment for yourself and others.
  11. Maintain constant communication and eye contact when backing up, using signals or movements.
  12. Follow OSHA/MSHA safety regulations.
  13. Follow manager’s instructions for daily tasks and projects.
  14. Assist in training less experienced employees.
  15. Perform general labor duties as needed.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

  1. Pass DOT pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
  2. Pass a physical exam.
  3. Provide valid I-9 documentation.
  4. Maintain a professional attitude.
  5. Be willing to travel and work away from home, including nights and weekends.
  6. Report on time and work overtime when necessary.
  7. Work outdoors in extreme temperatures.
  8. Adhere strictly to safety procedures.
  9. Work well in a team and assist others.
  10. Wear PPE as required.
  11. Maintain a valid driver’s license (CDL Class A or B).
  12. Have a clean driving record.
  13. Be at least 18 years old.
Education/Experience

High School diploma or GED preferred; construction experience is a plus.
