Job summary

The City of Hope seeks a Dosimetrist in Lancaster, CA to perform CT simulation and build treatment plans using advanced 3-D techniques. Under guidance from a staff physicist, you will manage patient dosimetry, conduct calculations for treatment, and ensure the accuracy of the planning system.

Flexibility in work location is offered, with preference for onsite presence. Candidates should hold a relevant degree or certification, and be eligible for MDCB within two years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or completion of a 12-month Medical Dosimetry program.
• CMD certification with 24 months experience can substitute education.
• Eligible for MDCB or must achieve it within two years.

Responsibilities

• Assess dosimetry and physics requirements for physician prescriptions.
• Recommend treatment strategies to the physician.
• Perform 2-D, 3-D, and IMRT treatment planning.
• Plan for HDR and interstitial brachytherapy.
• Digitize and import beam-shaping blocks after simulation.
• Contour normal tissues per physician instructions.
