Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle seeks a qualified Dosimetrist I to perform external beam and HDR planning, dose calculations, and utilize Mosaiq EMR to support treatment delivery. You will work with physicians, physicists, therapists and staff to ensure accurate, efficient dosimetry and treatment planning across the team.

Strong candidates will have formal dosimetry training, MDCB eligibility, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of a Medical Dosimetry school or a certified Radiation Therapist.
• Board eligible in Dosimetry per MDCB.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.
• May be required to lift/push up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform external beam radiation therapy planning procedures and dose calculations.
• Perform HDR planning procedures and dose calculations.
• Use Mosaiq EMR and other software to accomplish this.
• Collaborate with physicians, residents, physics, therapists to ensure proper plan.
• Follow Physician directives to create treatment plans and present dosimetry results.
• Assist in Simulation with the team as requested.
• Perform charge capture for procedures and reconcile charges in EMR.

The Dosimetrist I will perform necessary functions on treatment planning software(s) to result in acceptable plan for delivery of prescribed radiation dose to a patient.

This position is full-time, hourly.

Responsibilities

• Perform external beam radiation therapy planning procedures and dose calculations.


• Perform high dose radiation therapy (HDR) planning procedures and dose calculations.


• Use Mosaiq as EMR and other associated software to accomplish this end.


• Work with physicians, residents, physics, therapists and other Radiation Oncology staff to ensure the patients plan and treatment are simulated, planned and treated in a dosimetrically appropriate and efficient manner.


• Follow Physician directives to create radiation plans using the treatment planning software(s) and present resultant dosimetry plan.


• Assist in Simulation process with Therapists/Physicians/Physicists as requested.


• Perform charge capture for procedures performed. Execute reconciliation of charges with documentation in EMR.

Qualifications

Required:

• Must be a graduate of a Medical Dosimetry school or a certified Radiation Therapist


• Must be board eligible in Dosimetry as recognized by MDCB.


• Excellent communication skills are essential.


• May be required to lift, carry or push up to 40lbs.

Preferred:

• Bachelors degree preferred, specifically in Radiation Therapy, Math, or Physics.


• Board certified preferred, and if not, must be board eligible. If not certified, certification as a Medical Dosimetrist by the MDCB is required within 1 years of becoming a Medical Dosimetrist at our facility.


• 0-2 years experience of medical dosimetry experience preferred

Prior experience with the following equipment is a plus:

• Raystation Treatment Planning Systems


• Mosaiq EMR software


• Varian BrachyVision and/or Oncentra Treatment Planning System


• Suncheck Check Secondary Calculation Software


• Simulators: GE and Siemens


• Accelerators: Elekta Versa HD & Infinity with Agility heads; Varian TrueBeam

The hourly pay range for this position is from $71.81 to $119.67 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
