Job summary

The Denver Improv in Denver, CO is seeking Door Hosts and Hostesses to deliver a high-quality guest experience at live shows. You will manage entry, seating, and show-floor monitoring to ensure a fun and safe environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 1–3 years in a restaurant/club setting, relevant certifications, and strong communication. Flexible hours, with nights and weekends, are required; bilingual candidates are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience in restaurant/club environment.
• ServSafe Food Handler and TIPS/LEAD certification; per county/state requirements.
• Friendly, outgoing with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights/weekends; bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage entrance before, during and after performances.
• Check IDs to enforce age restrictions and liquor laws.
• Greet guests and seat them per seating process.
• Monitor showroom to minimize talking, heckling, and recording.
• Assist management with removing unruly guests when needed.
• Persuade patrons to stop drinking or arrange transportation if intoxicated.
• Collaborate with team members as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Denver Improv is currently seeking Door Hosts and Hostesses who will be responsible for providing a high-quality guest experience during our live shows according to Improv standards.

Job Duties:

• Manages the entrance before, during and after the performance.
• Checks age identification to ensure compliance with age restrictions for show and State liquor laws.
• Greets guest and seats them at tables per the seating process.
• Ensures the Club is seated appropriately for each event.
• Monitors the showroom during the shows to prevent guests from talking, heckling the comics, taking pictures and recording using their cell phones.
• Attempts to limit problems and liability to customers excessive drinking.
• Assists management with removing unruly guests from the showroom.
• Takes steps to persuade customers to stop drinking, or order means of transportation for intoxicated patrons.
• Assists fellow team members as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or the equivalent, some college.
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in Restaurant/Club environment
• ServSafe Food Handler and TIPS or LEAD Certificate; in regulation with County or State requirements.
• Friendly, outgoing and possess excellent communications skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights/weekends, accommodating concerning scheduling needs and requirements.
• Bilingual is a plus
