Responsibilities

• Fabricate aluminum storefront doors from stick material per drawings and specs.
• Interpret work orders and drawings to determine cut lengths and hardware locations.
• Precisely measure, mark, and cut aluminum extrusions to spec using a miter saw and grinder.
• Drill, tapping, notching and assemble per door configurations.
• Inspect materials and assemblies for surface defects and dimensional accuracy.
• Identify issues and report to supervisor; maintain clean, safe work area.
• Perform duties in a fast-paced, team-based environment.

Job description

We are a fast-growing, family-owned company seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fabricator to join our aluminum and glass storefront door team. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for building custom storefront doors from raw aluminum "stick" material—cutting, machining, and assembling each unit based on unique customer specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform full fabrication of aluminum storefront doors from stick material, including precise layout, hardware preparation (drilling, and tapping), and final assembly and fitting to specifications.
• Interpret work orders and architectural/shop drawings to determine accurate cut lengths, hardware locations, and detailed fabrication specifications.
• Accurately measure, mark, and cut aluminum extrusions to specification using a miter saw, and grinder.
• Perform drilling, tapping, notching, and other preparatory processes in accordance with shop drawings and specified door configurations.
• Inspect aluminum material for surface defects such as marks or scratches prior to cutting or assembly to ensure quality standards are met.
• Inspect completed assemblies to verify quality, structural integrity, and dimensional accuracy.
• Proactively identify and report operational issues to the department lead or supervisor
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience:

• High School or Equivalent (Preferred)

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds independently on a repetitive basis throughout the shift and assist with team lifts of items weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work at fabrication tables, saw stations, and other shop equipment for extended periods and perform all duties safely.
