Job description

Texas Building Supply, a division of USLBM, serving the major markets in Texas with five building material yards and one window distribution facility across Austin, Houston, Dallas-Ft. Worth and San Antonio.

A Brief Overview

The Door Assembler II is responsible for assembling pre-hung door components. This position will stock lumber, plates and other work-related materials and supplies, and will also band/stack finished products. This role may provide daily direction to other Assemblers on the line to produce a quality product.

Pay Rate: $21.50/hour

What you will do
  • Lay out pre-hung door component supplies and materials on carts or floor.
  • Stock plates for component set-up.
  • Assemble components under the direction of the line leaders.
  • Load and band finished materials on carts/pallets inside and/or outside.
  • Receive incoming products, commodities, and materials.
  • Track materials per job and complete daily production schedule.
  • Maintain work area by keeping it neat and organized.
  • Assist in the set-up of component assembly process.
  • Monitor production workflow process assisting other areas as needed.
  • Operate all equipment necessary to the assembly process.
  • Assist in maintaining an organized work environment which may include emptying trash receptacles and keeping all bays/staging areas clean and organized.
  • Provide excellent customer service and participate in a positive work environment.
  • Monitor inventory as required by location management.
  • Retain an awareness of the work environment critical to the task at hand to produce error free and damage free results.
  • As Level II, perform installations of more technically advanced or demanding products and train new associates in assembly process. May act as Line Leader, providing detailed instruction and direction regarding assembly and component materials process.

Education Qualifications
  • High School High school diploma or equivalent work experience required.
Experience Qualifications
  • 1-3 years Prior carpentry experience required.
  • Door assembly experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities
  • Must be able to read a tape measure and use a hammer.
  • Ability to learn to operate equipment such as routers, saws, presses, and staple guns.
  • Available for overtime as needed.
  • Excellent teamwork & customer relationships.
