Job summary

Zeeland Lumber & Supply, a division of US LBM Holdings, LLC, is seeking a Door Assembler I in Michigan. You will work on a pre-hung door assembly line, stock doors, frames, and components for door assembly, and assist with setup and cleanup.

This role requires reading a tape measure, using a hammer, and learning to operate routers, saws, presses, and staple guns; overtime may be required. We value safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior carpentry experience preferred.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure and use a hammer; able to learn routers, saws, presses, and staple guns.
  • Overtime availability as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a pre-hung door assembly line.
  • Stock doors, frames, plates and components for door assembly.
  • Assemble components under the direction of the line leaders.
  • Load and band finished materials on carts/pallets inside and/or outside.
  • Receive incoming products, commodities, and materials.
  • Maintain work area by keeping it neat and organized.
  • Assist in the set-up of component assembly process.
  • Monitor production workflow; assist other areas as needed.
  • Operate all equipment necessary to the assembly process.
  • Keep bays and staging areas clean and organized.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support a positive work environment.
  • Monitor inventory as required by location management.
  • Maintain awareness of the work environment to produce error-free and damage-free results.

Job description

Based in Michigan, Zeeland Lumber & Supply operates truss and wall panel component manufacturing plants along with full-service building material yards that distribute lumber and an expansive range of specialty products, such as windows, doors, roofing, cabinets, decking, and interior and exterior trim.

A Brief Overview

The Door Assembler I is responsible for assembling pre-hung door components. This person will stock lumber, plates and other work-related materials and supplies, and will also band/stack finished products.

What You Will Do
  • Work on a pre-hung door assembly line.
  • Stock doors, frames, plates and stock components for door assembly.
  • Assemble components under the direction of the line leaders.
  • Load and band finished materials on carts/pallets inside and/or outside.
  • Receive incoming products, commodities, and materials.
  • Maintain work area by keeping it neat and organized.
  • Assist in the set-up of component assembly process.
  • Monitor production workflow process assisting other areas as needed.
  • Operate all equipment necessary to the assembly process.
  • Assist in maintaining an organized work environment which may include emptying trash receptacles and keeping all bays/staging areas clean and organized.
  • Provide excellent customer service and participate in a positive work environment.
  • Monitor inventory as required by location management.
  • Retain an awareness of the work environment critical to the task at hand to produce error free and damage free results.

Education Qualifications
  • High School or equivalent work experience required.
