Job summary

Troy University invites applications for a Donor Relations Specialist to join the Office of Development. This role focuses on cultivating leadership donor relationships and stewarding them through targeted, personalized programs aligned with the university’s philanthropic priorities.

You will partner with colleges and gift officers to recognize donors, report on impact, and design donor stories and engagement plans that raise the level of stewardship and philanthropic support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of related work experience.
  • Experience working with budgets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to interact with a wide variety of constituents.
  • Excellent computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage reporting processes for endowed funds and current restricted gifts to ensure proper stewardship information is provided to donors and highlight the impact of their philanthropy on an annual basis.
  • Maintain lists of donor recognition societies and execute recognition processes, coordinating with the Director of Annual Giving on society fundraising efforts.
  • Create recognition and feature stories to be displayed on the Development website.
  • Create customized donor stewardship plans on an annual basis for top donors in each of the frontline fundraising team’s portfolios.
  • Manage all university‑wide donor giving society courtesies, impact reporting, and programmatic experiences commensurate with level of giving.
  • Coordinate with each college‑based Director of Development to support college‑based giving societies.
  • Manage donor relations touch points for special projects and special giving day events.
  • Assist in analysis and evaluation of stewardship and donor relation programs; recommend new procedures to improve quality, effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Donor Relations Specialist

The Donor Relations Specialist position will serve as a member of the Office of Development and will play a key role in donor relations. It will help implement a program aimed at nurturing positive relationships with leadership donors. The program is primarily focused on cultivating and stewarding long‑term relationships with leadership donors, as well as strategic and creative thinking around advancing stewardship to a more sophisticated and personalized level. This individual will join a team committed to increasing philanthropic support of Troy University.

Work Hours

Monday‑through‑Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
