Job summary

Islamic Relief USA is seeking a part-time Development Coordinator to identify, cultivate, and steward major and minor gifts. The role focuses on building donor relationships, planning fundraising activities, and expanding IRUSA's donor base.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, strong organizational skills, and willingness to travel domestically up to 75% to support projects and events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Experience working with grass-roots organizations and volunteers.
• Proven ability to interact effectively and communicate well.
• Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Energetic with the ability to multitask.
• Experience in fundraising preferred.
• Must be available to travel domestically up to 75% with occasional international travel.
• Exceptional public speaking skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Strong record-keeping and basic writing skills.
• Desire to work for a humanitarian cause.
• Must have own transportation.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Develops positive relations with donors, volunteers, organizations and the general public in the region.
• Cultivates and solicits donations from individuals, groups and organizations.
• Plans, organizes and facilitates fundraising activities (events, dinners, concerts, etc.)
• Responds to donor inquiries with accurate and timely information and processes donations.
• Engages with volunteers to organize and coordinate fundraising activities.
• Schedules and delivers presentations to audiences of diverse backgrounds.
• Prepares and submits plans, projections and reports to the Regional Manager.
• Continues to improve job-related skills through training and workshops.
