Occupational Demands

Work is performed in a plasma center. Exposure to biological fluids, potential infectious organisms, electrical and laboratory equipment, and extreme cold below 32 °F while working in a plasma freezer. Personal protective equipment is required (protective eyewear, garments, gloves, cold gear). Work may involve sitting or standing for the entire shift, bending, twisting, frequent hand movements, and precise coordinated finger movements. Light lifting up to 15 lbs, with a maximum lift of 50 lbs, and occasional crouching or squatting are expected. Hearing acuity and visual abilities (corrected to 20/30 in one eye and 20/100 in the other) are essential. The role requires the ability to follow both oral and written instructions and manage a wide range of complex tasks with changing conditions.

Compensation & Benefits

The estimated pay scale for the Donor Center Technician role based in Newport News, VA, is $16.50 per hour. The position is eligible to participate in up to 4% of the company bonus pool. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, PTO, paid holidays, up to 5% 401(K) match, and tuition reimbursement.
